In
keeping with the Lonesome Pine Office on Youth's mission to serve youth and
families in Southwest Virginia, we are now offering a program developed by
Comprehensive Development, Inc. called K.I.D.S. (Kids in Divorce and
Separation).
The
K.I.D.S Program is a 4-hour educational program for parents designed to
specifically address the relationships between parental conflict, divorce and
child adjustment. It is based on research in the area of parental conflict
and child adjustment and critical reviews of several existing programs available
to separated/divorced families. The program is delivered in a small-group format
in one 4-hour session.
There
will be a $30.00 fee charged to each parent, payable before the date of the
class. Certificates of attendance will be given to participants and a letter
will be sent to the presiding judge. Surveys and parent questionnaires needed
for program evaluation must be completed by the participants before certificates
and letters will be sent out.
